Last updated: June 2026

This policy explains how Higiena Trade collects, uses and protects your personal data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, GDPR) and applicable Bulgarian law.

1. Data controller

The controller of your personal data is Higiena Trade, a distributor of professional hygiene and cleaning products operating in Bulgaria, based in Sofia.

For any matter relating to data protection, exercising your rights or submitting a request, email us at office@higienatrade.bg or call 0888 55 36 26, Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00.

2. What personal data we collect

Depending on how you use the platform, we process the following categories of data:

  • Account data — name, email address and password (stored only in encrypted form) when you register, including via Google or Apple sign-in.
  • Contact data — phone number and contact person.
  • Company and invoicing data — company name, registration/identification number, VAT number and accountable person, used to issue an invoice.
  • Order data — the contents of your orders, purchase history and related communication.
  • Delivery address — the address, Econt office or Econtomat (APS) you provide for receiving the shipment.
  • Payment data — payment method and status; full bank card details are handled directly by the payment operator and are not stored by us.
  • Usage data — technical information such as IP address, browser type and how you interact with the site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

3. Purposes and legal bases for processing

We process your personal data only where we have a lawful basis to do so:

  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — to process and deliver orders, manage your account and provide contract pricing to approved business accounts.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — to issue and retain accounting and tax documents.
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — for platform security, fraud prevention, service improvement and customer support.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for marketing communications and non-essential cookies; you can withdraw consent at any time.

4. Recipients and processors

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with trusted processors who act on our instructions under data processing agreements:

  • Econt Express — to arrange and track delivery to an address, office or Econtomat (APS).
  • Stripe — to process online card payments when you choose to pay by card.
  • Hosting and technical support providers — to keep the platform running and secure.
  • Competent public authorities — where we are legally required to provide information.

5. Transfers outside the EU/EEA

As a rule we process your data within the EU/EEA. Where one of our processors (for example a payment or cloud provider) processes data outside the EEA, this is done with appropriate GDPR safeguards in place - such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

6. Data retention

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. Account data is retained while your profile remains active and for a reasonable period afterwards.

Accounting and invoicing documents are kept for the periods required by the Accountancy Act and tax legislation. Once the applicable periods expire, data is deleted or anonymised.

7. Data security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or alteration - including password encryption, secure HTTPS transport and access controls.

8. Automated decision-making

We do not carry out automated decision-making producing legal effects for you, including profiling that significantly affects you.
